Three months prison sentence for Mid Sussex youth
Downland Housing Association has today (March 21st) secured a three-month prison sentence against Ricky Fitzgerald following a catalogue of anti social behaviour.
The court granted the sentence in Fitgerald’s absence after he failed to appear before Judge Simpkiss at Brighton County Court today. His original 28-day suspended sentence has been enforced and a further three months prison sentence has now been given. There is now a warrant out for his committal and once in custody he will go directly to prison.
Fitzgerald twice breached his order. Back in February 2005 he was found within the Bentswood area of Haywards Heath of which he is forbidden and was then remanded on bail after failing to appear in court.
“I am delighted that the court has taken these offences seriously and that the residents of Bentswood can live without the worry of this mindless person’s actions spoiling their community” said Kevin Day, Area Manager for Downland Housing Association.
Downland is committed to tackling anti social behaviour and will continue to use the powers, old and new, to protect the people who live in its homes.
