Downland Housing Association’s sheltered residents have raised £1350.55 towards the Tsumani appeal.
Residents from The Beeches and Villa Gardens in Waterlooville held a bring and buy sale and raffle on Thursday 20 January raising £750.55. Magnolia Court in Basingstoke raised £300.00 with a three-minute silence and coffee morning and residents at Colmer and Marlborough Court in Burgess Hill raised £300.00 with their fundraising efforts.
Eve Bray, Sheltered Services Manager at Downland Housing Association said: “Downland is delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile cause. Sheltered housing is often at the heart of the community and the fundraising has brought the communities even closer together”.
There are a total of 1,000 sheltered tenants at Downland aged 55 and upwards. Offering independence, security and company, sheltered accommodation is a great choice for those no longer wishing to manage alone. For more information about sheltered accommodation go to www.downland.org.uk.
