For residents to be actively engaged in participation you need to be properly informed about the services provided by the Association. The Association makes sure information is easily accessible through:

  • Tenant Handbook
  • Resident’s magazine – Down Your Way
  • RCP Update
  • Area and estate based newsletters
  • On line information
Consultation

Effective consultation with tenants is fundamental to our ability to develop services that meet the needs and aspirations of our existing and future tenants.

A variety of consultation methods are used to engage residents:

  • Public meetings
  • Postal/telephone/door step surveys
  • Focus groups
  • Regional Consultative Panels
  • Residents' groups
  • Conferences
  • Seminars
  • Roadshow
Participation

We are keen to encourage participation in decision making process of the organisation by its residents. There are a variety of opportunities for participation both at the Association wide level and estate based level:

Wessex Involvement Network

Wessex Involvement Network is a resident-led organisation, co-ordinated with staff from the social housing landlords who are members of WIN, to give residents the skills to determine their own training requirements and lead a training programme based on resident feedback.

Training can help residents to have a greater influence with the work of their landlord and local quality of life. It empowers residents to really make a difference both in their local community and improve their personal skills.

So log on to www.wessexinvolvementnetwork.org.uk and complete the online questionnaire and tell us what you want to do, so that we can give you the training opportunities that will make that difference!

"Training that residents want because residents chose it!"
